Thank you for your interest in this year's fundraiser! It is because of your support that Stewpot is able to help 600+ individuals each and every day.

Taste of Mississippi is a tasting event that offers culinary delights from fabulous area restaurants and beverages from local distributors, with a competition among participating restaurants for Best Appetizer, Best Entrée, Best Dessert, Best Presentation, and People's Choice. For over thirty years, this event has garnered local and statewide support from restaurants who simply enjoy supporting Stewpot in its mission to feed, clothe, and shelter individuals who are homeless and in need.

All proceeds from Taste of Mississippi benefit Stewpot Community Services, whose mission is to provide for the needs of the poor, elderly, and disabled in Jackson's metro area.

If you are looking for a way to contribute to Stewpot for the 2023 tax year, you can do so by mailing a check to:

Be a part of the fun:

  • Taste of Mississippi has been around for over 3 decades
  • In 2022, this event raised more than $110,000 for Stewpot's ministries
  • Includes over 25 participating restaurants every year
  • All the proceeds fund Stewpot's shelters, children's after-school programs, the food pantry, and the noon meal offered every day of the year at no cost to our neighbors in need.

Stewpot Community Services provides assistance at no charge to central Jackson residents who are in need of food, shelter, clothing, love and encouragement.

Founded by several Jackson congregations in 1981, Stewpot has grown from a simple soup kitchen into a locally supported nonprofit agency offering emergency shelter, food and clothing services, street outreach, housing assistance, and programs for kids and teens. Stewpot gratefully receives funding from generous individuals, businesses, and organizations and welcomes 3,000+ volunteers each year.
